Below is a list of all the features included in my CR-8000 modification:

MIDI:

  • • two built-in Elby MIDI2SDS(X) modules
  • • velocity sensitive MIDI triggering of all 14 voices plus accent
  • • trigger mute switch per voice
  • • MIDI learn
  • • trigger pulsewidth control

individual voice output groups:

  • • bass drum
  • • snare/rim/clave*
  • • congas
  • • toms*/cowbell
  • • hi hats/cymbal
  • • clap
  • * toms are grouped with snare/rim at the factory, but knowing I’d be using the toms heavily I swapped them with the clave from the clave/cowbell group for more control in the mix

bass drum:

  • • decay with normal switch and self oscillation
  • • oscillator one tune with normal switch
  • • oscillator two tune with normal switch
  • • oscillator one boost with cut switch
  • • oscillator two boost with cut switch

snare drum:

  • • oscillator one tune with normal switch
  • • oscillator two tune with normal switch
  • • oscillator one boost with cut switch
  • • oscillator two boost with cut switch
  • • snappy
  • • noise with cut switch
  • • decay

rim shot:

  • • tune
  • • high pass filter
  • • boost

clap:

  • • band pass filter
  • • snappy
  • • “reverb” with cut switch
  • • decay
  • • offset
  • • boost

hi hats & cymbal:

  • • high pass filter
  • • band pass filter
  • • decay
  • • master tune with normal switch
  • • independent tune for all six oscillators with cut and normal switches
  • • boost

clave:

  • • tune
  • • boost

low, mid, & high congas:

  • • tune
  • • boost

cowbell:

  • • oscillator one tune with normal switch
  • • oscillator two tune with normal switch
  • • oscillator one boost with cut switch
  • • oscillator two boost with cut switch
  • • band pass filter
  • • decay

low & high toms:

  • • tune with normal switch
  • • boost with cut switch

    Hi there!

I have a CR-8000, a HR16B and two Mattel Synsonics drum machines. Do you know how to syncronize such machines?

Hi Svein. You have a few options for syncing the three machines, though it will require some fanangling. The CR-8000 uses DIN sync, the HR-16 uses MIDI, and the Synsonics uses an unusual DIN configuration.

To sync the CR-8000 and HR-16 you can use a DIN sync converter, such as the Synhouse DINSYNC.

For the Synsonics, check out the burnkit2600 Synsonics page.

There’s also some info on Highly Liquid that might be useful to you.

Hope this helps. Thanks for posting…
